Any struggles in your family, or experiences that left you feel any less than you truly are.

Any beliefs and conceptions we took up from religions. Sometimes we tend to pick up upon beliefs or forms of doing things without daring to question them or if they really suit us.

Trauma can also often come from hurtful experiences in past relationships or any encounter with human interaction that leave us feeling hurt.

Limiting beliefs
We take over limiting beliefs that we may unconsciously carry for years if not decades and that often shape our everyday life and decision making.
Emotional wounds
It can unconsciously leave us with emotional wounds that can later be reflected in our emotional well-being, our interactions and even in our health.
Fears, patterns & self-esteem
They can easily leave us with fears and patterns. Suddenly we become more insecure, or pull back or simply develop certain limiting behavioral patterns or low self-esteem.

Lack of emotional balance or fulfillment
The more unconcscious trauma we may have stored, the more we may struggle to find emotional balance and fulfillment. We are stuck in patterns, rather from acting out of our true self leading to unfulfillment more easily.

Trauma can show up more easily when we struggle with weight, health or relationship issues. We suddenly use eating for comfort. Our body shows energetic/emotional as physical symptoms or we may constantly be in a bad mood.

How tracking my emotions helped me
One thing that helped me on my healing journey was tracking my emotions for a couple of months. A simple emotional journal tracker helped me become more aware of how I was feeling each day. You can print one out and take notes, or simply draw it in your journal and track your emotions there. It's not about rigid tracking. It's simply a self-help tool that helps you become more aware of your emotional states. Healing isn't only about forgiving old wounds. It's also about becoming aware of the emotions, habits, and situations that no longer support you. Once we become aware of our emotional patterns, we can begin making different choices and create a healthier path forward.
A myth is that we always need to think positively.
Over the years, I realised that I spent a lot of time trying to do the "right" things. The workouts everyone recommended.
The habits everyone talked about. The routines that were supposed to make me happier. Yet sometimes they did not make me feel good at all.
Then I started asking myself a different question:
"How do I actually feel while doing this?"
That simple question changed a lot.
I realised that healing is not always about forcing positivity. Sometimes it begins with becoming aware of what we truly feel.
One tool that helped me develop that awareness was an emotional tracker. By tracking my emotions for a month, I started noticing patterns in my daily life. Certain activities gave me energy, while others left me feeling drained. The goal is not to judge your emotions or track them perfectly. It's simply to become more aware of them.
Because when we become aware of how we feel, we can begin making choices that better support our well-being.
